PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana

Up to ₹1,08,000 Subsidy on Home Solar

Eligible homes across India get up to ₹78,000 in central financial assistance for on-grid rooftop solar. In Uttar Pradesh, the state government adds up to ₹30,000 more. We handle the online application and the paperwork.

  • Homes with their own electricity connection can apply.
  • The on-grid system must come from a registered vendor.
  • The subsidy is credited directly to your bank account.
  • We also apply for your state subsidy where one is available.
Subsidy on home systems of 3 kW and above
SubsidyAmount
Central (PM Surya Ghar)₹78,000
Uttar Pradesh state₹30,000
Total in Uttar Pradesh₹1,08,000

Every home system we install is 3 kW or larger, so eligible homes get the maximum subsidy. Outside Uttar Pradesh, the central subsidy applies, and some states add their own top-up. Amounts are based on the latest scheme guidelines. They can change, and we confirm them when we apply.

What size solar system do I need?

As a simple rule, plan about 1 kW for every ₹1,000 of your monthly bill. We install systems of 3 kW and above. Here is what we usually suggest:

  • Bills from ₹500 to ₹3,499: 3 kW, which needs 300 to 400 sq ft of roof and generates about 450 units a month.
  • Bills from ₹3,500 to ₹4,499: 4 kW, which generates about 580 units a month.
  • Bills from ₹4,500 to ₹5,499: 5 kW, which needs 500 to 650 sq ft of roof and generates at least 710 units a month.

We confirm the right size after checking your bills and roof. For a quick estimate, use our solar calculator.

How much does rooftop solar cost?

The price depends on system size, panel type, structure height, and roof conditions. We give you an itemized written quote after the free roof visit.

How much subsidy can I get?

Every home system we install is 3 kW or larger, so eligible homes get the full central subsidy of ₹78,000 under PM Surya Ghar. In Uttar Pradesh, the state adds ₹30,000, for a total of ₹1,08,000. Homes with their own electricity connection can apply for an on-grid system, and we check your eligibility and file the application for you.

How long does installation take?

Most home systems are installed in one day once the materials reach your site, and the inverter goes live within 10 working days of project approval and site readiness. Net meter installation and subsidy credit take longer because they depend on your DISCOM and the government process. We keep you updated at every stage.

What warranty do I get?

Solar panels come with a 30-year performance warranty from the manufacturer. The inverter and other parts carry their own manufacturer warranties. Every warranty is listed in writing in your quote.

Will solar work during a power cut?

An on-grid system switches off during a power cut for safety. If you need backup, choose a hybrid system with batteries, which keeps your essential loads running.
